Setting Up and Customizing Your Public Changelog

Publish reviewed release notes, configure your widget, and choose whether updates publish automatically.

Create release notes

Connect a repository and choose whether to track commits or merged pull requests. Makrly filters for customer-facing changes and generates changelog drafts in your project’s voice.

Review drafts before publishing, or enable your project’s Auto-Publish setting if you want generated updates to publish automatically. Without auto-publishing, generated release notes remain drafts.

Organize your changelog

Changelog categories include New, Improved, Fixed, and Removed and can be customized. You can edit entries in the dashboard or through the Developer API. Published entries appear on your hosted changelog, widget, and RSS feed.

Add the widget to your website

Open your project’s changelog settings and select Widget. Configure the widget’s appearance and features, then copy the code from Embed Code into your website’s HTML.

Branding removal is included in Core and Pro. Trial surfaces retain Makrly branding. Custom-domain allowances are one domain on Core and three on Pro.

AI access

You can use your own AI provider key. Managed automatic changelog and Help Center generation is available through the optional managed AI project add-on.

See current product documentation for plans and generation behavior.
