How to Connect Your GitHub Repository to Makrly
Connect GitHub, choose repositories, and understand the access Makrly requests.
Connect a repository
- Sign in to Makrly with GitHub.
- Review and authorize the requested GitHub OAuth permissions.
- Select the repositories you want to track.
Makrly uses repository metadata, commit messages, diffs, and author information to generate content. It uses webhooks for updates.
Understand GitHub permissions
Private repositories require GitHub’s repo OAuth scope. This scope also permits writes; it is not a read-only permission. Makrly uses the connection for product reads and webhook management. Do not assume the connection excludes code: commit diffs can include source code.
You can revoke Makrly’s authorization through your GitHub OAuth app settings.
After connecting
Choose whether your project tracks commits or merged pull requests. With automation enabled, Makrly filters for customer-facing changes and creates release-note drafts. You can also generate social drafts and help content from the dashboard. Syncing and generation require active product access and an available AI configuration.
See Makrly’s product documentation for integration and trial details.
